Photographs terribly and looks incredible in person, which I assume was the point.

Blackout is a study in removing visual information. Every component is dyed to the same 4% reflectance, including the stitching, the lace tips and the sockliner, so the shoe reads as a single volume in daylight. The only break is the translucent outsole, which is an unpigmented rubber — pigment is what normally makes rubber opaque, and leaving it out costs about 8% abrasion resistance. We accepted that because it lets you see the plate through the sole. Assembly is cement construction with a 360° bite line to keep the join invisible.

Got #114. The translucent sole yellowed slightly after a month outdoors — expected with no pigment, still worth it.
