/ / Engineering

Most trail outsoles optimise for dry grip, which is a solved problem. Dustline targets wet rock, where the variable is compound rather than lug geometry — we run a 62 Shore A sticky rubber that wears roughly 40% faster than standard trail compound and holds on wet granite at angles where standard compound lets go. Lugs are 5mm, siped in two directions and spaced widely enough to shed mud without a self-cleaning gimmick. The debris collar is bonded to the upper rather than stitched, because a stitch line is a water path.

Wet granite in the Picos. Held everywhere. The compound is visibly wearing already but I knew that going in.

Heavy but that is the trade for a 5mm lug. Collar genuinely keeps grit out.
