The seamless upper looks like it was moulded. No creasing at the flex point after three months.
/ / Engineering
Monolith has one seam, at the heel centre. Everything else is a single lasted panel with an internal neoprene bootie carrying the closure load, which means the outer skin does no structural work and can be a soft 1.1mm nubuck without collapsing. The trade is that it takes 14 minutes to last against 4 for a conventional upper, and any error scraps the whole panel. Yield is around 88%, which is why it costs what it costs.
